You will form a group with three other participants randomly selected by the computer. You will never be informed of the identity of any of your group members, either during or after the experiment. Similarly, your group members will never be informed of your identity. This experiment consists of two stages.
Stage 1: Leadership selection
In this stage, a leader will be selected for each group. The role of the leader will be explained in the
explanation of Stage 2.
The computer will randomly select one participant to be the leader. However, you can indicate it if you have a
desire to take the leader position. The computer’s random assignment will be implemented unless at least one
participant in your group indicates a desire to be the leader, in which case the leader will be selected as follows:
Below you can see part of the screen where you can indicate your desire to take the leader position. You will see the statement “I do NOT want to take the leader position” checked on your screen. To indicate your desire to take the leader position, you need to uncheck this and, instead, check the statement “I want to take the leader position”.
Your choice on this screen is your private information and will never be revealed to any other participant.
